Proxy Practitioner Certification

The AA-EVP is now offering a certification to members (practitioners) who have demonstrated the ability and willingness to attempt contact with loved ones in behalf of others (sitter). Qualifications for certification are:

  • Long-time1 demonstration of ability to record EVP

  • Demonstrated willingness to help people seeking help in making trans-contact via EVP

  • At least four successful contacts via EVP in behalf of sitters which have resulted in a letter of testimonial indicating that the sitter correctly heard the EVP and expressed thanks to the practitioner

  • Demonstrated understanding of the characteristics of EVP and ability to distinguish false positive results

  • Demonstrated history of reporting in a way that helps an inexperienced sitter have a realistic2 understanding of what is said in an EVP

  1. "Long-time" as determined by the directors on a case-by-case basis. Thus far, "long-time" is measured in years.

  2. "Realistic" meaning that the practitioner could expect an experienced listening panel to, without prompting, hear what is being reported. This is a judgment call, however, when in doubt, the practitioner should ask other practitioners to help as a listening panel.

This is the only certification currently offered by the AA-EVP. There is no cost for certification, but it is limited to AA-EVP members and is only for the duration of membership in the Association. Members who are certified are asked to provide pro bono service to the Association by way of accepting occasional referrals to help sitters contact a loved one.

Certified members will be listed here, with a link to their website or with contact information. An alias may be used to protect the person's privacy.

Certified Proxy Practitioners

Certified members are encouraged to provide this service to the general public. As such, potential sitters should expect to pay a reasonable fee for the time, effort and especially the skill provided by the practitioner. In turn, the sitter should expect a reasonable number of attempts to make contact with the loved one. If successful, the sitter should be able to understand the EVP with some guidance and if practical, should receive a copy of the EVP. The AA-EVP does not define a "reasonable fee."

Notice to the Sitter

Contact with a specific person using EVP has been accomplished by many people; however, there are no guarantees that a practitioner will be able to contact a particular person in behalf of a sitter. The AA-EVP encourages people to learn to work with EVP for themselves. It is easy and all of the information is accessible via the article here. The benefit of personally recording for EVP is the certainty that can only come from personal experience.

Application for Certification

Any AA-EVP member can apply for certification. Members who have been certified have communicated with the directors for a year or more. Each has contributed effort and talent toward the successful operation of the Association, and in one way or another, have demonstrated that they are prepared to mentor others, are dedicated to the understanding of EVP/ITC and are willing and able to make trans-etheric contact for others. Please feel free to contact the directors if you have questions.
